  • Kimchi Noodles (with Sweet ham and Egg)

I cooked this for my teammates this morning and they loved it. So here is the recipe.

    As per request:

    Ingredients

1.)    2 packs  ramyun (any spicy flavored)- reason? The noodles are larger than our regular noodles. Lucky Me Seafood noodles is also great substitute

2.)    3 pcs large eggs. 1 egg to be beaten for the soup.

3.)    1 small pack kimchi (available in SM, Robinsons Galleria supermarkets. I recommend  the one that comes in foil packaging)

    4.)    1 medium size onion

    5.)    2 gloves garlic

    6.)    2 tbsp sesame oil

7.)    1 pack sweet ham (round). King Sue is a good brand.

8.)    Optional: 1 head shitake mushroom or 1 sheet nori wrapper

    Procedure.

    1. Stock is very important in any soup. To make the stock, boil the shitake mushroom, onion and garlic in 5 cups of water for about 10-15 mins.  Set aside.
    2. Pre-heat sesame oil in medium fire. Sautee kimchi for about 2 minutes. Add the stock and kimchi and boil.
    3. Add the ramen, beaten egg. Add the ramen and ham and boil.
    4. Crack 2 eggs and simmer.
    5. Garnish w/ nori wrapper (optional)

TIP: the shitake mushroom can be cut and added to the soup. Kelp is also a good substitute.

  • A pasta recipe

Hmmm... Although I promised myself I would update my blog last March...I never got around to. Before I knew it, August is about to end..Next week is September. Jeez...Talk about long procastinations and promises- broken..

Well to start my old habit, today I will post a recipe of pasta. I don't know what it's called but it's just something I made up. It's a red sauce with an Asian twist. Ok, let's cook! You will need the following:

1.) Pasta  (I prefer spaghetti or penne)
    2.) Del Monte Tomato-Cheese sauce
3.) Cheese (1/2 bar)..regular Eden cheese is ok, but quick melt is better!
    4.) Salt
    5.) Olive Oil
6.) 1 can Century Corned Tuna
7.) 1 tbsp Korean Pepper Paste
    8.) Pepper
    9.) Pinch of salt
    10.) crushed garlic
    11.) Onions
    12.) Spinach

    Steps:

1.) Cook pasta as per package instruction. Do not overcook. It must be firm and tender.

2.) Saute garlic and onions. Add the tuna and put water. Let it simmer.

    3.) Next, put the sauce,cheese and pepper..Simmer.

    4.)Add the spinach and simmer.

5.) Garnish with roasted sesame seeds and grated cheese. :)

    And the finished product, voila!!

    New Building and New Company

As of March 3, I am now officially under Emerson Electric Asia (Ltd)-ROHQ. Or otherwise the Emerson Network Power for Asia-Pacific Region. Night shift pa rin ang work. But this time, we're not under a BPO but under our client before which is Emerson. So how is it different from the usual call center job? *lol*

For one, we're using regular phones (much to our chagrin) unlike with Sykes where we have the VOIP-enabled phones. They're purchasing some headsets for us, but my! It's so difficult to support using a regular phone.

2.) The good news is that we no longer have aux breaks. You may take your break whenever you want. Just make sure your phone is hung up before sleeping or going out.

3.) No more call monitoring and utilization trackers.

4.) The computers are much, much better! Only downside for now is that. Our dual monitors (which we brought from OSMA) are not working properly YET. And it makes life @ work a bit difficult. We open a lot of windows @ work and use a lot of tools and websites. So navigating from one application/window to another is tedious when you only have one monitor.

5.) No more jeans and sneakers. We have to dress like we're really in the office..Well it is an office environment.

6.) No TV in the pantry and no fun (Sykes nickname for sleeping area) room...huhuhuh...

7.) No more IM and browsing videos online. (hahahaa...)The good news is we can play music using the CD drive or bring in MP3's or cameras and cellphones.

So far, I'm adjusting well to the new environment. It just feels like we just transferred to a new building and never really left the previous company. I miss my other friends @ Sykes though.
